1. “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
Practical Application: This speaks to the importance of forgiveness even to those who do us wrong. Jesus used a forgiving heart to free himself from the resentment and bitterness allowing us to move forward with peace.

2. “You will be with Me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
Practical Application: Every individual is entitled to the hope and promise of eternal life. It reminds us to trust in the promise of a better future, even in the face of hardship, and to find comfort in being with God. Do not fear death.

3. “Woman, behold your son!” (John 19:26-27)
Practical Application: This speaks to the importance of compassion and care for others, especially those in need. We are to extend our care as a spiritual community by supporting those around us, just as Jesus cared for his mother and disciple. Do not seek return for the blessings you give to others.

4. “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46)
Practical Application: This speaks to the reality of suffering and abandonment. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles and that we can turn to God for comfort and strength during difficult times. Fear of being abandoned or separated from God.

5. “I thirst!” (John 19:28)
Practical Application: This speaks to the humanity of Jesus and the need for self-care and rest. It reminds us to take care of our physical and emotional needs, as well as our spiritual needs. To recognize the oneness of your spiritual and physical state of mind and wellbeing.

6. “It is finished!” (John 19:30)
Practical Application: This signifies completion and triumph. It reminds us that even in the face of adversity, we can find strength in knowing that God is working for our good and that we can trust in his plan. He that in us is greater than any adversity.

7. “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” (Luke 23:46)
Practical Application: This speaks to the importance of surrender and trust in God’s will. It encourages us to release our worries and anxieties to God and to trust in his loving care. Placing complete trust in God’s plan and the necessary obedience for fulfillment of one’s spiritual mission and purpose.
